Moving to Phase 2

Saturday 17 October

The BDA Executive have agreed to progress to Phase 2 of our return to training plan from Friday 23 October.   The Government are clear that team sports may continue to take place where the sports governing body has had a return to play protocol approved.  We would, however, remind clubs that they must check any local restrictions that may apply to their activities.

Clubs are reminded of the guidance that is in place on the BDA Return to Training page.  Clubs must identify their Covid-19 officer and upload their risk assessments and action plans to the BDA digital platform before they go back on the water.  Once this has been completed clubs are responsible for making the decision when they return to training.

Paddlers should be aware in Phase 2 the droplet transmission risk is increased to a high overall risk under the Government’s risk exposure framework.  They should ensure that they have read and understand their clubs’ action plan and risk assessment and are comfortable with the precautions in place.
